HKCF takes action to save historic structures or resources threatened with demolition or inappropriate changes. Volunteers track projects, attend public meetings, gather information and implement action. Successes are celebrated with an every other year Preservation Awards Ceremony and special events at saved and rehabilitated structures.
HKCF identifies, evaluates and recommends or takes action in addressing local, state, and federal preservation issues. Volunteers monitor federal, state, and local legislative issues. Volunteers participate in local government planning projects and testify before local government commissions and committees on issues affecting historic structures, neighborhoods and landscapes.
